I've often thought of the similarities between blogs like livejournal (especially their ljdrama dimension) and reality TV. Guess I'm a bit behind the genius producers at AOL and Yahoo, who are giving the generation who switch off TV the option to perpetrate their own reality TV on the Web via blogs and DV footage. Here's a Mediaweek article about AOL's Project Freshman and Yahoo's IMU: I Miss You (tracks long distance relationships).
I could rage about whether AOL and Yahoo haven't done enough already to sully the Internet. But I suffer from empathy, and so I mainly want to express my sorrow for the dumb kids who are happily agreeing to turn themselves into camera fodder (in this case, browser fodder).
